Responsible Dog Visiting
As you explore the estate, we kindly ask all dog owners to help us protect this special place and ensure a safe, enjoyable visit for everyone.
Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times when walking around the estate (except within booked Dog Park sessions).
Please be aware that some plant species can pose risks to dogs.
All visitors should follow our Doggy Dos and Don’ts, which are in place to protect our historic gardens, wildlife, livestock, and fellow guests.
By being considerate and following these guidelines, you help us maintain a welcoming environment for both people and pups.
We can’t wait to give all our doggy visitors a warm Glenarm welcome this season.
Doggy Dos and Don’ts
Well behaved dogs are welcome in our outdoor areas at Glenarm Castle, however they must be kept on a lead at all times.
Dos
- Keep your dog on a short lead at all times, particularly in the Walled Garden and Woodland Walk. We have wildlife, including rescue hedgehogs, in these areas which can be disturbed by even the most well-behaved dogs
- Please pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in designated dog bins. Please let a member of staff know if you are unable to find a bin
- Respect other visitors, and dogs, by keeping your dog under control
- Stay on designated garden and woodland paths and trails with your dog
Don'ts
- Allow your dog to roam freely off-leash (or on long, extendable leads)
- Forget to clean up after your pet
- Allow your dog to disturb other visitors. Be mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs, particularly young children
- Allow your dog to disturb wildlife or plants in our garden and woodland - remember, our garden is a sanctuary for rescue hedgehogs
