The Walled Garden Series: Succession & Propagation

Join us at Glenarm Castle Estate for a special day of learning, conversation, and seasonal inspiration, centred around our historic Walled Garden.

Set against the beautiful surroundings of the Estate, this relaxed and informative experience invites guests to enjoy expert talks, refreshments, and an exclusive guided tour through one of our most treasured spaces – The Walled Garden.

Event Schedule

11:00am – Tea, Coffee & Scones
Begin the day with tea, coffee and freshly served scones in the Coach House.

11:30pm – The Story of the Walled Garden
Our Head Consultant Gardener, Neil Porteous, will take you through his horticultural journey and explain how he came to consult on Glenarm Castle’s gardens. This talk will explore how plans for the Walled Garden are developed, with a special focus on this occasion on succession in the Garden.

12:00pm – Guided Walled Garden Tour
Following the talk, we will make our way to the Walled Garden where Neil will begin his tour, set to last for 1 hour and ending with a demonstrations of how to clip and propagate. We welcome you to take home a clipping of your own, which you can then regrow.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the wider Estate grounds before or after the experience. Glenarm Castle Estate is open daily from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
