Mini Land Rover Experience

We are excited to launch our brand-new Mini Land Rover Experience at Glenarm Castle, sponsored by Charles Hurst Land Rover and NFU Mutual. Let the kids take control of the driving seat and book a slot in one of the first off-road Mini Land Rover adventure courses in Northern Ireland.
The driving course is specifically designed for the Mini Land Rovers, creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Glenarm Castle’s Mini Land Rover Experience is for young children from the age of 3. Kids drive tough Mini Land Rovers in a safe environment. Maximum height limit of 5′ or 150cm applies. The driving experience lasts for 45 minutes which includes a 15-minute safety briefing.

You can now book your tickets for the Mini Land Rover Experience. Tickets available from the 1st July 2021.
There are 5 cars available to hire. Each car has a potential top speed of 5 MPH, but this has been adjusted to ensure safe operation by children between the ages of 3 and 11.
Each Mini Land Rover has a steering wheel, a starter key, accelerator, lights and a direction switch. One Mini Land Rover is suitable for two children.
The Mini Land Rover cars can be switched off remotely by the accompanying adult by using a hand held fob. The accompanying adult can walk alongside the Mini Land Rover around the course.
The maximum load weight is 130 kg or about or 20 stone.
The Mini Land Rovers can take up to two children. There is a designated spot along the course where the children can swap and take turns driving.
Children and accompanying adults should be dressed appropriately for the weather outdoors and must wear closed shoes such as trainers or boots. Drivers will find trainers more comfortable than wellington boots which can inhibit their driving. There is no requirement to wear a helmet although on some occasions, it can be fun to dress up.
We encourage people to book through this website in order to guarantee a fixed time slot and ensure availability. We do accept walk in customers on the day, but only if there is a vacant space on the next available drive. Priority is always given to the booked drivers.
Birthday parties and other special events can be arranged separately and can be customised to your children’s needs.
If you need to talk to somebody about booking a drive or an event, please feel free to call us on 028 2884 1203
We do a special deal for larger groups and birthday parties. It really depends on your requirements.
In general, we provide the cars and the space, The maximum party size will really depend on how you want to conduct the event, but we recommend no more than 10 children at a time. We have various catering facilities on site from the Tea Room, The Milk Parlour (Ice Cream) and Pavilion which provides food to go including burgers and pizza.
A typical party could include use of the cars for up to 45 minutes and then the use of the facilities to exchange gifts and cake for another hour.
The Mini Land Rovers operate on a specially built course in a field above the Tea Room. You must check in to our Welcome Centre first and a staff member will direct you to the course.
Nobody can control the weather and what it may do to the course. We don’t want to stand in the pouring rain anymore than you do. Activities will continue in light rain but if the weather is too severe to drive, we will contact you to cancel the drive and offer you an alternative slot. Obviously, children will be disappointed, but we want this experience to be memorable for the right reasons.
