Eat & Drink
The Tea Room – Seasonal Flavours & Historic Charm
Step inside the Tea Room, set in the estate’s historic old mushroom house, where the cool, dark building of the past has been transformed into a warm and welcoming space. Under the expert guidance of renowned local chef Sean Moran, the menu highlights the very best local produce, from award-winning Glenarm Shorthorn Beef to delicate Glenarm Organic Salmon, along with an array of homemade cakes and sweet treats.
Visitors can enjoy their food in the outdoor seating area, soaking up the sunshine, while Glenarm Castle members have exclusive access to a private terrace overlooking the Kitchen Garden – the perfect place to relax and take in the views.
The Potting Shed – Woodland Brews & Dog-Friendly Delights
Nestled in a serene woodland glade, The Potting Shed is a cosy retreat for cyclists, walkers, families, and furry friends alike. Enjoy expertly crafted coffee from Ground Espresso Bars, alongside freshly baked sweet and savoury treats, pies, and traybakes – or take your food on the go while exploring.
Sustainability is at the heart of The Potting Shed. A bucket of used coffee grounds outside the café is available for visitors to take and use in their gardens – a simple way to help reduce waste.
Dog lovers are especially welcome here. The café features a complimentary doggy shower, complete with a pet jet and free shampoo, so your pup can freshen up after a woodland walk or a run in the dog park. Top off their visit with a refreshing pup cup and a tasty doggy treat.
The Milk Parlour – Artisan Ice Cream
For something sweet, head to The Milk Parlour. This Ice Cream Lab, established in 2021, makes small-batch ice cream using milk from Northern Ireland’s only local pedigree Shorthorn herd, sustainably sourced from the Barr family at Tannybrake Farm.
Expect the classics and creative surprises alike – from White Chocolate & Amarena Cherry to Captain Morgan’s Rum & Raisin, Tiramisu, or adventurous options like Smashed Avocado on Cinnamon Toast. There are also dairy-free sorbets and vegan favourites like Biscoff Ice Cream, made with Minor Figures oat milk.
Don’t miss the handmade cookies or the famous ice cream cookie sandwiches, which can be dipped in Nutella or Biscoff, or rolled in toppings of your choice. Everything is made fresh daily – when it’s gone, it’s gone!
The Pizza Pavilion – Wood-Fired Perfection
For a hearty, flavour-packed meal, visit the Pizza Pavilion, tucked within the estate grounds. Here, homemade wood-fired pizzas on traditional sourdough bases are served in a welcoming, sheltered setting.
Choose from timeless favourites like the Margherita, or indulge in bold creations such as spicy Nduja sausage. The menu rotates regularly, so there’s always something new to try. Gluten-free bases and vegan cheese are available on request, allowing everyone to enjoy the full pizza experience.
Whether you’re pausing after a woodland walk, exploring the gardens, or browsing the shops, the Pizza Pavilion offers a relaxed space and flavours to delight every visitor.
