Walled Garden
We hope that each time you visit and explore our Walled Garden, you’ll discover something new. From the vibrant bulbs and blossoms in the springtime to the extensive array of peonies and exquisitely fragrant roses in May and June. As late summer transitions into early autumn, the herbaceous borders will look their brightest and boldest, filled with striking and diverse displays of exciting flowers and other specimen plants.
The Walled Garden boasts many distinctive and delightful characteristics, with some harking back to the garden’s origins in the 1820s. Delve into every facet of our enchanting Walled Garden, from its aromatic herb garden to its one-of-a-kind sculptures.

Our Walled Garden would not be where it is today without the unwavering dedication and expertise of our garden team. Their hard work, passion and tireless efforts make our Walled Garden the enchanting, picturesque and captivating sanctuary that visitors can come and enjoy. Our garden consultant Neil Porteous is a renowned gardening expert and plantsman with a profound wealth of knowledge and infectious passion for the field meaning our Walled Garden is always evolving with new inspiration.
Tulip Festival
Our annual Tulip Festival, sponsored by Bloms Bulbs, returns next season from 4th – 6th May 2024. Join us over the May Bank Holiday Weekend where you will be able to ask the all-important questions to our sponsors and tulip experts, Bloms Blubs, or simply marvel at our colourful displays of 6000 beautiful tulips planted around the garden. There will also be lots of exciting retail, children’s entertainment, music and more.
